What better way to ban guns than to not ban them and just make everything so expensive that you can barely use them? That's the trick that the park service is falling for! Read on:

Lead Ammo Ban by National Park Service an Anti-Hunting Move
Wednesday, March 11, 2009
Fairfax, Va. -- The National Park Service has announced its intention to ban traditional ammunition containing lead in all its parks. The move would needlessly push hunters to use more costly ammo like tungsten, copper, and steel. The restrictions, set to take affect by the end of 2010, were announced without regard to science or soliciting feedback from sportsmens’ groups.
"The NPS announcement demonstrates either complete ignorance or complete arrogance as to the effect that this policy will have on hunters,” says Chris W. Cox, NRA chief lobbyist. “There is no science to support NPS' contention that the use of lead ammunition in hunting is causing environmental contamination, having a negative effect on wildlife, or posing a threat to the health of visitors or park staff. This policy, and the lack of communication in advance with the sportsmen's community, is a deliberate attempt to reduce the number of people who will want to hunt in the 60 parks that are open to hunting. This plays directly into the hands of radical anti-hunting organizations like the Humane Society of the US which is advocating that hunters be banned from using lead ammunition."
The NRA will continue to be a voice of opposition against this unnecessary action and is committed to protecting the rights of hunters to use the ammo that is best suited for their hunting needs and budget.

Jim Brady wants to disarm citizens

Well, in case you haven't heard there is a gentleman names Jim Brady who is campaigning to end gun violence. The problem is he is targeting the wrong people, Law abiding citizens who own guns. In his ignorance he puts law abiding citizens into the same category as the sick people who shoot up the innocent. His website even has an image that states "In 2004, Guns murdered..." Really? Guns murdered people? Those are talented guns! I can't wait to see the statistics on blood thirsty knives and the Evil Baseball bats!
[sarcasm]You know who I feel sorry for? The poor criminals that find themselves handling one of these murderous weapons... how are they to know that the gun is about to point itself at an innocent person, turn off its safety, and pull its own trigger, or the knife in their hand is planning on thrusting itself into the person before them, or the bat they're wielding is about to bludgen someone? [/sarcasm]
You know what people like Jim Brady fail to report? All of the crimes that have been prevented by a gun being present. All of the criminals that have been stopped (not killed) by being shot in the leg or arm and preventing them from hurting other innocent people. Why doesn't he keep track of those staggering numbers because I bet they'd surely make his numbers seem inadequate. If someone wants to kill they will use whatever weapon they can find plain and simple. And criminals don't care about breaking the law (thus being called criminals) and they will gladly obtain firearms illegally!
Look at the successful war on drugs! If people want it they will get it. So don't run around trying to disarm the law abiding citizens!

How biased is this? Let me scale these numbers for you so they don't look so scary:
The U.S. has a population of Appx. 303,824,640
New Zealand: 4,173,460
Sweden: 9,045,389
Australia: 21,007,310
Wales: 2,900,000
Canada: 33,212,696
Now let's do some math. It's easy, divide the U.S. population by the other populations and multiply the number of deaths: here are the new numbers (in deaths):
New Zealand: 364
Sweden: 1243
Australia: 810
Wales: 7648
Canada: 1683
Wow! My how numbers change! New Zealand Murders went up 7280% and Canada is up 914%!!! UNBELIEVABLE! And here is another problem, These numbers aren't taking into account the terribly biased (I'm sure) scale that they used to judge America vs. these other countries! I wouldn't be surprised if they included Iraq war deaths to help skew the numbers. Anyways. I'm done with this man. If he feels he knows better than our founding fathers than more power to him, let me just remind you that our country is where it is at because we didn't stick to the constitution as tighly as we should have, because our leaders "knew better."

Gun Control Protects Criminals

Case and Point, if you were a criminal, would you feel safer breaking into a house knowing that the owner of the house was legally prohibited from owning a gun? I know I would! It really diminishes the chances of your targets being able to defend themselves! I found a neat video that further expresses this sentiment, be sure to pass it around!
